May 30, 1942 – Memorial Day

Memorial Day began in 1868 after the Civil War to honor those who fell and carries on today. But Memorial Day in the middle of a war is awkward at best. So May 30, 1942 is Memorial Day and Battery H will be taking part in a big parade in Boston. Dad has a 24 hour pass (hooray) and it seems he’ll be in the parade then be able to take off.
