Life goes on for Leonard. He’s drilling and guarding the coast. He’s getting a summer uniform – including underwear. They’re preparing to spend a month on an island off the coast of Massachusetts practicing with the big guns so Leonard is counting the days. They’ll be leaving by the 13th so no passes will be issued. His appointment for eye glasses is rescheduled. So much is going on; his sister, June is graduating from high school and on a sad note, his Grandmother is in the hospital. Meanwhile, the biggest battle of 1942 is raging in the Pacific.
