Let’s kick off the blog with a happy day. Mom and Dad got married on March 7, 1942 so HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! It was a small church ceremony close to where the Main’s lived in Natick, Massachusetts. Leonard’s sisters would help Audrey get ready. They loaned her a blue dress and did her hair. She would find out later that they suspected she was already pregnant when they married. She was horrified by that. My goodness, that’s how scandals are started. After the wedding, they had a small party back at Leonard’s family house. I’m not sure if Audrey’s family attended. I would think they’d be there. I have to do more research on this. I know they went to Hartford, Connecticut after the festivities where they had a few short weeks to try and forget what was coming.
